To search for a particular kit number, press the <Ctrl>and "F"  keys simultaneously. Enter the kit number and click "Next."

The Group # column contains a link to pedigree information if the participant has submitted documentation.

Clicking on a Kit number will search the database for possible connections to that participant and display results in a pop-up window. Only those participants whose genetic distance indicates possible relatedness are displayed.

*Results are grouped by major haplogroup and sorted by their genetic distance from the mode value for the group, divided by the number of markers tested. Participants with a proven common ancestor are grouped and assigned the sort value of the participant with the greatest number of markers tested. The color gradation is added to provide a quick visual reference of variance from the mode value.

A value of zero for any marker indicates that the lab reported a null value or no result for this marker. All cases of this nature are retested multiple times by the lab to confirm their accuracy. Mutations causing null values are infrequent, but are passed on to offspring just like other mutations, so related male lineages such as a father and son would likely share any null values.

The markers in red have shown a faster mutation rate then the average, and therefore these markers are very helpful at splitting lineages into sub sets, or branches, within your family tree.

For more information on genetic distance and degree of relatedness, refer to the following references: No. of markers tested - 12, 25, 37, 67.
